The Band have enjoyed playing during this festival season with Christmas Carols around Burry Port, Pembrey and Llanelli. Various groups from the Town Band have been out and about over 18 times during December, it’s certainly a busy time of the year! Hopefully you got to see and hear them? The funds raised are a significant help to the running of the band.
With the number of youngsters now enjoying Blast Off into Brass, the band are very keen to ensure that they have instruments for them to begin their musical journeys. Brass Instruments have been found in attics, if you are getting your Christmas decorations down, the band are holding an instrument amnesty, so if you happen to find a Burry Port Town Band instrument in the attic this Christmas, please let them know! If any young family or friends are interested in beginning their brass playing journeys, a new cohort of youngsters will be starting in the New Year.
The Town Band are now looking forward to a well earned Christmas Break, before rehearsals start again in the New Year as preparations for the Welsh Open and the Wlesh Regional Championships start in earnest.
