Welsh League Champions 2009

Burry Port Town is a traditional brass band located in Burry Port, Carmarthenshire, South Wales. The band was founded in 1896 and has a rich and proud history. Since the turn of the millennium the band has competed in the premier (championship) brass band league and are the current Welsh League Champions.

Since the year 2000 the band has been Champion Band of Wales, National Eisteddfod Champions and also represented Wales in London’s Royal Albert Hall at the National Championships of Great Britain, on a number of occasions. In 2005 the Band also won the prestigious Senior Cup at the Spring Brass Band Festival in Blackpool, England, beating off competition from 20 of the UK’s finest bands.

Together with this Burry Port has shared the concert stage with an impressive array of soloists including West End Star John Owen Jones, opera diva Shan Cothi, and other famous names from the stage and screen.
